The Toll house was situated at the border between Chaddesden and Derby on the Nottingham (Turnpike) Road. According to Turnpikes.org.uk, there are references to the Chaddesden Toll House in 1833, 1839 and 1851 and they pin the location down to Cowsley Field Gate opposite …
